Practice & Background

Colin McFerrin’s practice focuses primarily on family law, personal injury litigation, various aspects of business law, and wills and probate issues.  As an avid motorcycle rider, Colin also concentrates a portion of his practice on protecting the rights of motorcyclists and their passengers.

Shortly after high school, Colin enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as a medical laboratory technician.  After honorably serving four years on active duty as an enlisted airman, Colin used his G.I. Bill benefits to attend Texas A&M University, where he earned a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology.  Colin then spent several years working within the pharmaceutical industry as a microbiologist and sales representative.

The changing healthcare environment, coupled with a desire to continue helping others, led Colin to pursue his legal education.  While in law school, Colin served as Citation Editor of the Law Review, and he was inducted into the National Order of Scribes.  Colin graduated cum laude from Texas Wesleyan School of Law and subsequently opened the law firm of McFerrin & Zayed, PLLC.

One of the driving forces behind Colin’s desire to open his own law firm is his belief that too many attorneys and law firms place a greater emphasis on obtaining new clients (and, thus, greater revenue) than helping to quickly and effectively resolve the legal issues of existing clients.  Accordingly, the attorneys at McFerrin & Zayed, PLLC developed the motto that “client, case, and communication come first.”  Not only will our attorneys treat you as though you are this law firm’s most valued client, but we will continually update you about the status of your case so that you are aware of its progress every step of the way.

Colin currently resides in Wimberley, Texas, with his wife, Kristen, and their three children.  His interests include riding his motorcycle throughout the Texas Hill Country, reading a variety of non-fiction books, and rooting for the Texas A&M football team.
